A long double-breasted coat cut to fall straight from the shoulder. Worn open it frames a suit; closed it holds a sharp line down the front and keeps the shape it was cut with. The length carries it past the knee, which is what gives it presence. Cut long and lean, it keeps its shape over a suit or over a heavy knit. Lapels sit flat whether the coat is fastened or open.
